R. N. I. B
Have they missed the plot? ?

Have the R.N.I.B lost the plot, it seems that way to me. i know they have lost a lot of money on bad investments, but it seems that they are trying to claw back there losses from the very people they are supposed to be helping i.e us blindies. It was a real shock when without warning anybody they introduced a £2 .50p handling charge so even the free items will be charged, they have brought a charge in for there catalogues, which is a disgrace. It gets worse as now they are not only going to shut down assessment centre at Torquay and there hotels at Blackpool and Eastbourne As regard to the assessment centre they want to integrate blind people with other students at the somerset college, which i am all for but i fear the staff there will not have time to work with individuals we do need some one on one support and confidents building, which people were getting from the staff at Torquay, before being eased into this venture and not thrown in at the deep end. The hotels are losing money but surely they should be subsidising them as thats what charities do is'nt it, the people who use these hotels have built up friendships over the years with visits and these will be lost now. After all the Action for blind seem to be making a go of there hotels. Even the local blind associations have had the funding from the R. N.I.B withdrawn, so now i do my blind items shopping with them, i just phone them and tell them what i want and it is much cheaper and Quicker. All of these cut backs , but it has not stopped them having a new headquarters building built in London at a cost of 9, 000, 000 which they moved into two years ago, and the top people working for this charity will be on earnings of a £130,000 with a 12per cent yearly rise. Fair enough these people will say they are the best people for the job , but the same people lost all the money in bad investments. huh!! Funny when they chop they never chop at the top is'nt it. So come on R. N. I. B get a grip and help the people your supposed too be helping, you could start by employing more blind people than you do, and lose the joke that's going around of.
R N I B really not interested b*****ds
There i got that off my chest All the best from Roy Cox in Wiltshire in England.
